Application Guidelines
We celebrate the unusual, the unique, and the unfiltered creative worlds of women and gender-diverse artists experimenting with sound, music and technology.
Who can apply?
We welcome artists from all kinds of backgrounds, pathways, experiences and existences to apply.

You don’t have to be a performer, you could be an engineer or producer.
-
You don’t have to be from academia.
-
You don’t need to have had a level of ‘success’- whatever that means!
-
We select purely on artistic merit and a clear drive to create more.
To apply you must:

Identify as woman/trans/non binary or gender diverse
-
Be aged 18+
-
Be based in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
What support do we offer?
This year we will award 5 artists with:
-
Bursaries of £1,500 each
-
Mentorship to support your career
-
On-going support from the Orams team and wider community.
Who are we looking to award?
We want to reach artists in previously unreached regional areas and encourage applicants from far and wide across the UK. This year we will awarding:

Two artists based in England
-
One artist based in Wales*
-
One artist based in Scotland
-
One artist based in Northern Ireland.

We make a commitment to ensure at least two of the selected artists identify as Disabled.
*we welcome applications in the Welsh language and are working with a translator to ensure that there are no delays in response, communication or the processing if your applications in Welsh
How do I apply?
The application itself includes:

general information requests

a link to your website (Bandcamp, SoundCloud, Spotify, Instagram, Facebook are also accepted if you don’t have a website)

5 questions about your creative practice which require no more than 150 - 200 word answers
-
3 links to examples of your work (of no more than 5 minutes in duration). We accept the following formats; bandcamp, soundcloud, spotify, googledrive, dropbox, wav, mp3

We understand that form filling is not for everyone so we have produced alternative formats

If you make a mistake or realise you forgot to do something after submitting your application, you will not be penalised or made ineligible. Again- please just reach out to us or if we notice something missing we will reach out to you
